Ancare and Merial Join Forces

In a significant development for New Zealand agriculture, animal health companies Ancare and Merial have joined forces to create one company that will carry the product lines of both.

Another significant change is that Merial has adopted Ancare New Zealand’s veterinary focused distribution model.

Ancare managing director Colin Harvey and managing director of Merial Oceania Steve Rochester have signed a deal that includes all of Ancare’s intellectual property and assets in New Zealand and in offshore markets including Australia. 

According to Harvey this is a major success story for a New Zealand business, particularly as products developed and manufactured in New Zealand will be able to gain entry into major world markets.
